Last night’s community meal was accompanied by rain. Lots of rain. It poured, and any hopes we had of enjoying a summery evening outdoors were washed away. Instead, we dined inside and pondered what it means to be a community in this place… in this time…

An integral part of RAW is meeting as a community to share a meal. On Australia Day, we met together and enjoyed a BBQ breakfast and some fellowship. . . After all, Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast” (John 21:12 ).

Welcome to the existing and emerging church in Williamtown, Medowie and Mallabula. This site is a place where we can share our thoughts, musings and pondering of what it means to be a community of people in a post-modern world.
The Church is in interesting times. We have the church we have received with it’s services and faithful band of people. The details of this can be found under ‘Existing Church’.
But we also have an opportunity to ask What is church?
How do we want to meet?
How do we want to respond to the presence of God?
How do we want to live as a community of people living in the same place?
The rest of this site is geared towards addressing these questions and exploring what some good ways to nurture them might be.
Emerging church events will appear under ‘Emerging Church’. These will happen in response to you making contact and having some ideas; all are welcome!
The image of the borderlands in this picture represents where many of us are in the life of the Church, or in our relationship with God and each other. Perhaps the notion of God is one that you find difficult to believe? That’s okay, you are just as important to shaping the paths as anyone else.
The borderlands are uncomfortable places; between worlds, between actions, between ideas. But they are also places of excitement and self discovery; of challenging dualistic thinking and received wisdom. If you’re in that place then we want to hear from you.
